Dr. Idowu Omisile

Dr. Idowu Omisile is the Country Director for GenCGov (Gender Inclusive Climate Cjhange Governance), a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Future Leaders Fellowship project hosted by the University of Bradford and operating across Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and the UK. In this role, he works closely with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Pedi Obani, and other members of the GenCGov team, leading national programming on gender-responsive climate policy, institutional accountability, and climate justice advocacy in Nigeria. His work sits at the intersection of governance, evidence, and community voice, translating research and stakeholder engagement into policy recommendations that hold institutions accountable and centre the experiences of women, girls, and vulnerable communities in climate and development decision-making.

He brings over a decade of experience as an evaluation consultant to national and international institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa, working on climate resilience, gender equality, health, and livelihoods programming. His work has included leading mixed-methods evaluations, research studies, and MEL system design assignments for organisations including UNICEF, USAID, UK-FCDO, GIZ, UNESCO, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation – among them a UK-FCDO-funded market systems and climate resilience baseline in Cross River State, a Gates Foundation-funded evaluation of family planning service integration across four Nigerian states, and a USAID-funded portfolio of endline evaluations with Mercy Corps spanning WASH, livelihoods, and peacebuilding programming in Northeast Nigeria. His advisory work has also addressed gender-based violence prevention, adolescent health, and community-based health service delivery, in partnership with organisations including JHPIEGO and the Society for Family Health.

He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology (Industrial/Organisational Psychology specialisation) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where his doctoral research examined workplace organisational climate, justice, leadership, and workplace incivility using mixed-methods and advanced statistical modelling, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the same institution. He is a Certified Trainer in ATLAS.ti and MAXQDA, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), the Nigerian Association of Industrial/Organisational Psychologists (NAIOP), and the Ife Biostatistics Community, and a Fellow of the Ife Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS). He is also the Founder of Project Partner Data Solutions (PPDS), a Nigeria-based research and evaluation consultancy.

Dr. Omisile is active in civic and community leadership, coordinating a grassroots initiative on governance and public policy advocacy. He is committed to equity-minded, culturally grounded approaches to research and governance, and to closing the gap between evidence and the institutions responsible for acting on it.
