James Oketch, MCIArb

James Oketch is a rising commercial lawyer with expertise in arbitration, insolvency, business restructuring, and intellectual property law. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), the Law Society of Kenya, and the East Africa Law Society. James has undertaken specialised training in Insolvency and Business Restructuring Laws & Practice at the Kenya School of Law, giving him a strong command of Kenya’s insolvency ecosystem and its alignment with international legal standards. His expertise further extends to Intellectual Property Law, having completed a certified programme with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a specialised agency of the United Nations. Recognised for his growing influence in the legal field, James was listed among the Top Up-and-Coming Commercial Lawyers in Kenya (2023) by The Lawyer Africa.
